Cabbages can be steamed, fried, sautéed, added to casseroles, made into soups and eaten raw.

Recipe Okonomiyaki Japanese pancake

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Sake or dry white wine; optional
  • 2 Cups Cabbage; Shredded
  • 3-4 White parts Spring onions; Sliced
  • 1 Handful Other veggies like corn, peas or asparagus; Chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable oil

Preparation

  1. Create a batter with the flour and water
  2. Add the sake
  3. Add the vegetables and mix well
  4. Heat table spoon of oil in frying pan
  5. Add 1/4 of mixture evenly distributing veggies
  6. Turn a few times ensuring it is pressed down on with spatula until golden brown
  7. Repeat 3 more times
  8. Serve with mayonnaise and or okonomi sauce(find in Asian stores)
